DO NOW: Watch student work from last year, looping on the screen
Introductions. PAs welcome new students and tell them what to expect from the class
Icebreaker: What Do we have in common?
split into groups of 4-5-- find 10 things everyone has in common ("we all have arms/legs" doesn't count!)
One person takes notes in each group... then each group shares out.
Studio Tour
Pass out syllabus. Discuss together-- establish ground rules for the class and talk about the professional environment the students will be held to.
Extra Time / Hands On: Camera stations, try out some of the cameras we'll be using this year.

Icebreaker: Human Knot / Check in Question
Activity: NAME GAME
Take a sheet of stock paper.
Position paper in front of you horizontally and fold the paper in thirds.
On "front" panel, write your name (as you'd like to be called in the class)
Design a name-plate with at least FIVE iconic symbols of things that "define" you.
Activity:
Pair up with a partner. Take a minute to learn about your partner by what's on their card.
Then:
Come up to the front of the room in pairs and (on camera) introduce your partner to the rest of the class.
Review of classroom policies, etc.
