KDOL-TV Students in ActionFeatured Student: Ruby RosenbergRuby Rosenberg just started at MEA in the fall of last year – and she’s already winning recognition for her hard work as a young media professional. Ms. Rosenberg came to the program with some experience making videos at school – writing, directing, and even acting in them. At MEA’s Monday/Wednesday after school program, she co-produced several pieces for Onews, including a story on The Great Western Power Company and the Free and Reduced School Lunch Program.
Amazingly, she also found time to shoot, edit, and submit films to the Oakland Museum of California’s #BayMotion Mashup Contest and the AC Transit “A Better Ride” video competition. (She was one of the AC Transit winners.) This fall, Ms. Rosenberg is headed to Washington DC where she will be honored as a PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs All Star. She is one of only 8 youth journalists from around the country selected for this honor. Ruby says, “I aspire to do many things in media, but my main focus is both reporting and film directing.” |
