Welcome back advanced students! Below is the Schedule our fall 2014 program.
Digital Video Production II (Advanced)
Digital Video Production II is an Advanced Level course for students who have had experience in video production and know the basic technology involved in script-writing/storyboarding, camera operation, lighting, sound, and post-production editing and delivery systems.
9/9 - Tuesday
Welcome Back – summer vacation wrap (structure with time and descriptions).
Ram and Sherry introductions and short videos on backgrounds and experience.
Warm up and refresher with cameras followed by team competition with Photo Emotions (be sure to choose 5 photos/subjects). It’s a Bruno idea to have students photograph each other and use facial expressions only to communicate and describe the subject in the photo.
“News Story Charades”(?) with subjects ie-environment, animals, sports, celebs)
9/11 – Thursday
Guest? - Photographer
Equipment Review - video camera basics, shooting tips, lighting, interview framing). Use competition drills – to set up tripod, prep camera for shoot. Throw in “hazards”, like dead battery, no light bulb.
9/16 – Tuesday
Watch some shorts that focus on editing – quick cuts, timing. There’s the quickie on “History”. How about a music video or something else we find as examples then have students dissect the shots and cuts.
Equipment Review – Final Cut Pro. Set up library and student files, then have them edit some pre-shot video.
